Dont worry, Berlin is so cheap any administrative nightmares (ie accomodation) can be sorted out on arrival. Get Angemeldet immediatly, you are not a human without an "Anmeldebescheinigung". It is a prerequisite for: bank account, registration at uni, telephone and most other essentials.

Travel in Eastern Europe as much as possible, its cheaper and there are lots of cool things to see. Have an open mind in everything you do. Go outside your comfort zone that's a big part of studying abroad

Perhaps this wouldn't be the place to come to lift your grade because there's so much going on on every other level that focusing on your studies may prove tricky. I wasn't there in winter but I hear they have serious winters and alot of the cheaper accomodation will have coal ovens to heat them - very beautiful and decorative, but a real nightmare to keep stoked, especially if you live on the top floor ( a lot of carrying)

I enjoy it - but it can be sometimes confusing to navigate

I enjoy the program. I feel it is somewhat flexible so that you are able to focus on what you would like, however it can be confusing to navigate requirements and the downside is that there may be some required courses that are not so applicable to your interests.
