I live at home in Ireland with my parents. Therefore don't pay rent or telephone bill! Did good amount of travelling in Germany, therefore spent more there.

Found some locals eager to practice their English when they spotted a foreigner! But overall, very pleasurable. Locals never made you feel uneasy and were very patient in difficult situations.

Fasching in February - wonderfully colourful festival gives a real taste of life in Mainz. Good pubs were the little Weinstuben hidden in the Altstadt, aswell as the irish pubs and the night club "Red Cat".

The accomodation was basic but comfortable, the location was perfect and the atmosphere in all student houses was relaxed and friendly. Overall, a wonderful experience.
