Accomodation is mainly provided by 2 different organizations: 1) Student Union: they run a huge apartment block, called Kortepohja. Around 1900 students call it home. Great location, because within walking distance to the skiing resort. 10 minutes by bike to the main campus 2) KOAS: some kind of public organization that provides students with decent housing. It's a bit cheaper than Kortepohja but often further away from main campus.

KOAS which is responsible of housing students, is a flexible and a comprehensible organization. If there is one problem in the appartments someone is fixing it quickly without any charge. If you have some problems about money, one email and you can find an agreement easily. There is at least on coordinator for foreigners, which is quite helpful in case of trouble.

See 4. The quality you get for this price is amazing. In holland i payed almost double for less. The flats consist of three sperate bedrooms, a kitchen, hallway and a large bathroom. There is also a common room, fitness area and a sauna in EACH building.

i was first very impressed by the organisation (reservation, office, tutors...) made by the host university. Then, I really appreciate the facilities in the student village(laundry, shops, sauna..) and in the rooms (internet access, phone). Although the buildings were quite far from the university/center (especially during winter), there were also nice, safe, had a good atmosphere and were close to lake, forests and skiing slopes.
