registration for wings is very useful
(student organisation) - they organise trips, activities, help with university
to travel: buy a reduction card at the train station; very cheap and you can take 3 more people with you for half price
housing: its not easy to find accomodation in groningen - reserve as soon as possible a room in a studenthouse

The teachers I interacted with were all ready to help me from start to finish.
Considering my master's in environmental sciences, I was very pleased to work in the most sustainable building in Europe (Energy Academy Europe).
There is a large variety of courses to choose from, in which they were easy to understand, and the teachers would always respond within a day or two.

Cost saving tips: get a monthly travel card from the National railways, if u plan to travel a lot by train within a month's time. This should save you a respectable amount of money. For more daily things, do eat at the University's cafe-restaurant: good food, good coffee, nice environment with impressive roof seeing the sky, good prices.

Be sure that all professors will do their best to make you feel right about choosing Groningen for your studies: perfectly well organised, innovative teaching methods, capacities in interacting with foreign students, fluent english. Personal reccomendation: International law, African law(!), Sociology of Law.- Do take the best advantage of the Univ. library just opposite the University, where a wide range of sources of knowledge, from books to multimedia, will assist you in gaining he information you need.
