“Great city, dysfunctional academic experience”
Beth N
Sweden, Undergraduate

Overall
Groningen is probably the best student city in the Netherlands. Vibrant, safe, full of international students. From a social and quality of life perspective you can't beat it. I am in my final year of Arts, Culture and Media (bachelor level).

Pros
course allows lots of self-customisation, some great lecturers, amazing diversity in the student body
Cons
often feel marginalised and neglected by the uni as an international, poor lecturing and course content quality, lack of organisation. Housing crisis!

The public phones work with cards (you can find them in the super-markets: Albert Heijn, Super de Boer...), you can also get a strippencaard for the bus with ten trams
