huosing is very cheap in Heidelberg. take a bike to save on public transport. Disappointing are the very expensive train tickets, they do not invite you to travel all around the country.

Great atmosphere to study, beautiful scenery to explore, especially if you bring a good ATB. But don't go much longer than a year, Heidelberg is small.
