Travel, bring car as petrol is cheap.
Make sure you get your cards and accomodation sorted first 2 days.
Banks - Société-Générale near Continent or Crédit Agricole near town.
You cannot pay bills like phone over the counter in banks. Be ready for bills of exchange!!
Mix well with others and friendship will last lifetime!

Food has TVA at 20.5%
Accomodation is expensive because of lack of private accomodation.
Nightlife is expensive because of the drinks. It is cheaper at supermarket.
Travel on buses and trains fast, clean and efficient!
Overall, France is expensive because of taxes.

Dakotas and Bus Stop. They sell good beer.
Don't miss historic places of interest and also the food is fabulous.
There is the castle also.
Shopping is great for clothes but music goto FNAC.
The restaurants are a must.
Also catch football at Caen!

I have lived there and it is better. It is private accomodation near campus 5 minutes walk and near Continent supermarket

Euroresidence is diry and cheap. Only go there if you can only afford cheap accomodation. No facilities and it is run down. Accomodation at Citis is better with pool table, communal TV and pool table, babyfoot, DVD and you share with French studentsd. It costs more but it is clean and has security!!!
