Although my french was pretty good before going to sciences-po, undoubtedly this year in Paris was decisive for my fluency in French. There is no better way to excel in language but to go in the actual country and live there for a year.

I had spent some time in France already, so I was more or less fluent in French. You learn the political science vocabulary quickly (if you are willing to) and everybody is very helpful and understanding, if you have language problems.

As I'm used to a real academic level with a strong research and empirical approach, I was quite decepted by the naivity and obeissance of the students regarding certain professors statements or certain written material that was offered.

Overall
Students are coming mostly from best schools in France. The professors are top level in France and in EU in their matters. I spent there three very good years of learning.
