I had a problem : I wanted to improve my Spanish but all the local people spoke Catalan!!! I didn't learn Catalan on purpose because I wanted to strengthen my Spanish knowledge. So for 4 months I had spent my time with Spanish-speaking people like Mexicans to improve it. After that, I tried to speak a bit of Catalan.

Spanish is my native language as well as italian, so i had no problem with comunication. The only problem is that in Catalunia people speaks catalan and they are not open for speaking spanish.

a headache - I would talk to catalans in Catalan and they would always answer me in castillian (why? they're used that way)
