Coming to study abroad really improved my German skills to levels I would have thought impossible back in the US. Study abroad really helped me acquire many more words and become much much faster in speaking. Academic assignments in German helped to improve my written German.

In my case it was more of a cultural experience. I had spend up to 1.5 years in German speaking countries before this. I gained more from experiencing another university life than actually improving my language skills

At first i was slightly apprehensive in conversing in German but in no time my confidence picked up and through plenty of practice i improved a great deal.
