In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.

The interlectual standard is quite high, don't expect to get any help from the academics. The French at this uni work a lot harder than the internationals, and it's hard to socialise with them because of that. But the Erasmus students coming from lots of different countries and being motivated to party, you never get bored.

Paris is very multicultural, busy and fast living. Don't expect anybody to come up to you and ask you whether you need help. On the contrary, you often really have to keep bothering other students, academics, shop assistants, sports clubs etc until you get what you want. The best thing about it is that there's nothing over here that doesn't exist, if you want you can get whathever you want! If you go for it and be tough you'll have the best time of your life!

I wish I had known...
That I would need papers, papers, papers, PAPERS.
Be certain to keep absolutely every single tiny scrap of paper you receive from any agencies until you ask every single person you know whether or not you need to keep it.

Personal recommendation
I recommend this university for people who are seeking:
- A short time abroad for the language experience. It will be dangerously fun for you, and you will never want to leave. You will make wonderful friends, and a fantastic academic experience is ensured. You will probably come back for your honeymoon and every other possible excuse you can find.
- I would recommend this for people who appreciate the need to work extraordinarily hard to obtain a degree. If you plan to come here for several years of study, be prepared to fall in love with cobblestone streets, French wine and cheese, theatre and music... All the while experiencing much stress. The Sorbonne is a prestegious school due to the academic program, not merely the cute cafés that surround it. If you're coming here for an education, you're guaranteed a good one... The passion of the city is a fantastic bonus.

In summary, I believe my review sounds a little negative, but I have tried to remain honest about what prospective students can expect. Studying at the Sorbonne for the sake of a degree is not a walk in the park, and the administrative difficulties you will encounter will be massive if you are going on this venture independantly and are not prepared. Research, research, research....
As a language-study séjour, you cannot pick a better place.
Because I had so many legal and administrative problems of my own when moving to Paris to study, I am extremely willing to offer help to other students who might be going through the same thing. I have been living here for three and a half years as a foreign student and may be able to give some insight on studying abroad at the Sorbonne. Don't hesitate to contact me.

Immerse yourself completely in the culture - as far as a learning experience goes, it is as good as you can get!

Make sure to keep all those bits of paper you receive from administrative bodies, banks, telephone companies etc.
Try to find accomodation EARLY!
Talk to French students - they're great!

You can receive funding for housing in France. It is called the CAF, make use of it since it makes the expenses a lot less. If you make use of the Thalys book in advance, you will get a large discount. For housing, start as soon as you can, there is a city campus, www.ciup.fr. Sign in there.

In my opinion every students should have an internancional experience, because you can learn a lot with diferent cultures, you can learn onether language and mainly you grow up has a person. In fact you only can count with you, because your family and friends are at home and they can´t help you. Now i think i am more dynamic and proactive because of this internacional experience. This help you to your future job.

“Excellente université”

Overall
