I wish I had known...
concerning all administrational matters: take somebody with you who speaks french well, foreign languages aren't necessarily spoken, there's loads of forms and bureaucracy is often pretty complicated.

Personal recommendation
if you want to get something done as far as your studies are concerned, this is a good place to go. if you're highly motivated try to pass the CSCT, especially if you might want to work in france later on.
if you're looking for a place to party you might be better off somewhere else.

well, everybody tells you, but it REALLY rains most of the time, it's sometimes really hard to stand. so bring at least 2 good raincoats with you.

Final comments
There's no space for Erasmus students in my area of study (geology). You're not considerated by the most of teachers. You can come studying here just if you're already at a very high level. I stressed myself like never before and, more, I even lost one year of studies.
The university restaurant is really terrible!
