The Born area of Barcelona is a great place to go out, Danzatoria nightclub on av tibidabo is excellent, and rita blue bar/restaurant in raval is great fun. My favourite restaurant was Tragaluz, just off passeig de Gracia.

Try and find a flat in the centre of the city, as travelling in and out each day can be tiring.
