Everyone was speaking english though we were in netherlands...so it ended like being in england

The Dutch speak English very well. This made communicating easy. It made it difficult though to learn Dutch. They hardly give you an opportunity to speak it. They always continue speaking English even if you ask for it...

Nightlife: Paradiso on Thursdays, Club 11 whenever you feel like, Meander on mondays. Nice places for a coffee/beer: De Prins on Prinsengracht, De Jaren close to Muntplein, the open-air caffe behind Westerkerk, etc...
