Don't miss the Kriterion just in front of the faculty of economics, it's a great pub/cinema.
The greatest pub in the world: the Gollem.
Discos: Paradiso, Panama, etc.

dutch is really hard to learn and almost useless since everybody in any situation you can imagine will be able to speak some english. the courses aren't free and have a limited number of places.

Rembrandtplein was a square full with bars and night clubs, really nice atmosphere. The museums are free with a year pass in the whole country. Jordan neighboordhood full with original stores.
