I went to school in New York-Amsterdam is cheaper compared to NY. Also, since i was abroad, I wnet out and did more thigns than normal, so I spent more in that regard.

you may go to Amsterdam to learn Dutch but most people speak english and like to speak english. However, people will always appreciate to speak Dutch with foreigners.
