Housing
Type of housing: dormitory, not at campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Most likely I would go back to work, and I know of some very nice apartments downtown which I would like.

Personal comments
It is no problem getting housing when you are an international exchange student and the level of housing is as it should be, but one would hope they could push it from mediocre to just above.

Personal comments
I spoke swedish, which was the reason I felt I could study in norwegian. It was at most part not an issue, only when dealing with the authorities, not in academic life. Personal spending habits
Food and other everyday comodities were usually cheeper than at home, where as luxury items (alcohol, tobacco, travel etc.) were more expensive. Student housing was cheeper than my usual rent and I rarley used the phone, which is why I spent less money on these.

Final comments
Ryan air flies from Haugesund, only a bustrip away, visit London! And try the ship to Denmark. Also, Bergen, Kristiansand and Oslo are must sees if you have time. Be open and just jump in, everyone is there to meet new and exciting cultures. Don't be afraid to ask and most importantly don't be afraid to make contact with the locals. It can be very difficult to do, because most international students rarely have opportunities for it, but just be brave and jump in!
