Overall
I wish I had known...
In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
It is a good place to study. Facilities are good and, at least in my area, the academic level is very good. It is a very international university too, with more than 50% of the students coming from abroad, mostly from other European countries.

Advanced my studies & career
Final comments
Canterbury is a fine but small city. For those demanding the "big life" of a big city it may become too small. On the other hand London is only 1 hour 45' away. Going to the Continent, mainly France, Belgium and The Netherlands, is very easy and not too expensive: Paris and Brussels are around 3 hours away.
Not entirely unimportant, the weather here is much better than in other regions of GB.

Woody's is a nice Studt. Union run pub. The Venue (Univ. club/disco) should improve the music selection.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
This was the first time I lived on campus and it was a very nice experience by the chances it gives to know people, be close to the library, computers, teachers, etc.

Personal comments
The campus is set in a very nice environment and my room was big enough (unfortunately not like some other rooms on campus). On the less positive side I have to point out the fact that in the area of the campus i am living in there is not a of a place to peacefully watch TV, chat with friends or receive visitors: social life has to take place in the kitchen. Other less positive details include the little efficiency of the cleaning ladies and the size of the fridge/freezer, very obviously too little for 5 people.
