My education: BSc (Hons) Geography. Grade - 1st class. My studies include a broad range of mainly environmental-related topics. I will include a brief description of the most relevant to provide you with some insight into my education.

Work was mainly completed in the form of essays and scientific reports, as well as fieldwork.

Final year modules include:

Dissertation (Major research project) - My most significant piece of work. I developed then conducted an online questionnaire as well as interviews to assess the attitudes of key stakeholders to the reintroduction of the Lynx (Lynx lynx) to the UK. Data was collated and analysed for a 12,000-word report. Research contributes to the discourse of ecological restoration and environmental management in the UK.

I will attach a copy of this as an example of my work, it is rather long, but is summarised in the ‘Abstract’ section.

Global environmental politics - In this module I investigated the processes, actors and policies associated with the evolution of global environmental politics. Focusing on climate change policies. This was assessed in the form of essays

Long-term ecology and conservation - This module considers the response of organisms to human impact, climate and ecological change over long-term timescales. Some aspects I examined included trends in biodiversity; evolution & extinction.

Fieldwork - Evaluating conservation policy in Belize within a research team. After research was completed an analytic report was created to showcase findings.

Geomorphology - In this module I evaluated the effectiveness of accessible technology such as Google earth when researching tectonically active (ie, earthquakes) landscapes.

Increase your budget. It costs money to rent cars, travel, drink and be merry. You don't want to find yourself sitting at home because you don't have money to go out and get the experience you deserve.

Do not go here with the aim of getting friends with local students nevertheless, get prepared to face a lot of foreigners and different types of culture and for that you have to be adaptable and open minded.

The region of Cornwall and Devon are lovelly places but during summer due to the bas weather conditions in winter. Furthermore, I advice going to London for a week-end by megabus, and look for a youth hostel there because it very expensive in there.

For the students who will come here, try to get some activities with the university in order to meet more local students and be careful with your expenses in nightlife.

The Exeter school of art and design has a very nice atmosphere. Exeter is quite a small town, with lots of students, and lot's to do for students. After a year, you've seen it all, i have to say. The level of teaching at this uni was lower than my home university. I cannot say i really learnt new things, but that gave me lot's of time to enjoy the new country and get work experience outside the uni...

The uk is expensive. That's important to know before, so you don't get dissapointed. Make sure you use all the student discount cards available. The area of Devon and Cornwall are beautiful, i recommend travelling around. It's close to several beaches and Cornwall's great for surfing as well.
