Good university
Lea V
Australia, Graduate
Marketing and Sales Management, 2019
Overall
I graduated with a Master of Commerce at The University of Sydney. I previously came to USYD as an exchange student and decided to stay for my postgraduate studies. There is a lot of freedom when it comes to choosing your classes or the projects you want to work on compared to university in France. I also like university here better as it is more challenging. Most of my classmate were international students (very few native Australians) so I improved my cross-cultural communications skills as well.
Pros
USYD has a good reputation, the lecturers are at the top of their field.
Cons
Cost of education

Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options
Personal spending habits
While being in a foreign country you just don't think about expenses as carefully as in your home country. So I spent more money, especially for travelling and nightlife.
Overall, Nightlife, Housing, Travel:
was more expensive than at home.
Food, Telephone:
was the same price as at home.
Accessibility of student needs
Second-hand text books
Second-hand household items
Computers / Internet
Administrative
Money from home
Personal comments
It takes a couple of days/weeks to organize a money transaction from your home country to your bank account. A credit card is necessary in many situations. And: If you do spent time on looking for cheap options regarding travelling, going out, you can save money. Internet is a powerful and very useful institution in Australia!
