A Day in the Life

A Day in The Life Of:
As a Workshop OpEx Technician, your day is varied and hands-on. You start by checking in with the Operational Excellence team to understand priorities for the day, such as cell builds, EHS actions, or improvement tasks. You'll spend time on the shop floor, working with Supervisors and Operators to fix issues and improve how work is done. This could include setting up or adjusting workstations, carrying out small repairs, or making changes to improve efficiency and flow. You'll also support 5S activities by helping team develop solutions to keep areas clean, organized, and clearly set up. Safety is a key part of the role, so you'll help identify risks and complete actions to close EHS tickets. Some days you may work with local suppliers to get materials or arrange support for jobs. Throughout the day, you'll use your practical skills and problem-solving ability to make improvements that are simple, effective, and safe. By the end of the day, you've helped make the work area safer, more organized, and more efficient. Ongoing, hands on training and support will be provided to develop OpEx understanding and knowledge.

Key Skills & Experience
* Experience in a hands-on role such as technician, maintenance, handyman, or a trade (e.g. electrician, carpenter, fitter)
* Strong focus on safety and EHS awareness
* Confident using manual and electrical tools safely
* Practical problem-solving skills
* Able to work closely with OpEx team, Operators, Supervisors, and teams on the shop floor
* Manufacturing experience is helpful but not essential
* Familiar with 5S or continuous improvement is an advantage
* Good attention to detail and able to adapt in a busy environment

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).
