Come make history and join Amazon's Legal Department by supporting global trade matters, spanning customs and import compliance, tariffs, export controls, and sanctions, in service of our global business! This role will lead all Europe, Middle East and Africa global trade matters and will collaborate with business and legal teams across AWS and Amazon to develop innovative legal and business solutions. In this role, you'll navigate complex and rapidly evolving regulatory landscapes, deliver trade legal counsel on emerging technologies like AI and quantum computing, and directly influence AWS's global strategic initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive legal counsel on import, customs, export controls, sanctions, and other international trade laws applicable to emerging technologies
* Develop innovative international trade compliance solutions
* Research and analyze evolving regulatory landscapes, communicating complex legal implications to business stakeholders
* Support regulatory engagements and provide strategic input on legal and business decisions
* Manage multiple complex legal matters simultaneously with precision and creativity

Your day will be dynamic and impactful, involving direct collaboration with global business teams, researching emerging regulatory trends, and developing creative compliance and business-impacting strategies. You'll engage with cross-functional teams, translating complex legal frameworks into actionable business guidance, and play a critical role in supporting AWS's emerging technological advancements.

Our Trade and Logistics Legal team is a close, collaborative group dedicated to pioneering legal solutions across AWS's global business. We work at the intersection of technology, law, and global strategy, supporting AWS's mission to transform how businesses leverage cloud technologies worldwide. Your expertise will be crucial in helping us navigate the intricate regulatory environments of emerging technologies
Ihr Profil:
- License to practice law in Europe, US or other common law jurisdiction
- Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners or equivalent
- Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation
- Qualified Lawyer with 5+ years post-qualification legal experience
- Knowledge of international trade laws, including import, customs, export controls, or sanctions
- Exceptional research and analytical skills with ability to summarize regulatory impacts
- Ability to provide practical legal guidance in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience with technology sector
