Internship Title
Intern: Global User Research for Image Guided Therapy workflows

Your role:
Investigate the global user landscape in the context of usability testing for image-guided therapy (IGT) procedures. Explore how clinical workflows differ across regions and how these differences impact usability testing and product design.
* Image-Guided Therapy (IGT) systems are used in a wide range of clinical procedures-including coronary, vascular, neurological, oncological, and cardiac interventions. These systems are evaluated with clinical users to gather feedback for product development and to ensure they are safe and effective in real-world use. However, current usability testing practices are primarily focused on users in Europe and the United States, which may not fully reflect the diversity of global clinical workflows.
* You will play a role in investigating the global user landscape for Image Guided Therapy systems:
* Conduct a literature review on global clinical workflows and usability practices in IGT.
* Perform user research (e.g. interviews, surveys, contextual inquiries) with clinical stakeholders across different regions.
* Identify regional differences in workflows, user needs, and usability expectations.
* Analyze findings to uncover patterns, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
* Propose a framework or strategy for incorporating global user diversity into usability testing and product development.
* Present findings and recommendations to the Usability team(s) and relevant stakeholders.
* By the end of the internship, you will deliver:
* A comprehensive report summarizing global clinical workflow variations and their implications for usability testing.
* A set of personas or user journey maps representing key regional differences.
* A proposed approach or roadmap for integrating global user insights into usability testing practices.
* A final presentation to share your findings and recommendations with the broader team.
* You will be part of the Usability & Validation team of the Image Guided Therapy (IGT) clinical applications team. You will interact with a cross functional project team, consisting of among others clinical marketing, system design, software development.
This internship will give you the opportunity to learn about the Philips Image Guided Therapy organization and its different roles.
You're the right fit if:
* MSc student in the areas of Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Biomedical Engineering/Science, Industrial Design, or a related field.
* Strong interest in user experience, usability, human factors, and healthcare technology.
* Experience with creating journey mappings and/or personas, and associated qualitative research methods (e.g. interviews, contextual inquiries, observations, focus groups).
* Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
* Proactive, independent, analytical, and eager to learn.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.

We offer you:
A non-stop growth opportunity within a global multinational company. In addition, we also want to renumerate you well for the opportunity. This includes:
* Monthly full-time allowance between EUR500 - EUR700 gross, depending on your education level and if you need to relocate to The Netherlands. Part-time internships receive the allowance pro-rata.
* Housing compensation. Should you need to relocate to near our office, we'll offer you a monthly allowance of EUR300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, EUR255,- net for all other Philips locations. To be eligible, we'll just ask for the rental contract from your landlord, and your usual home-work travel distance needs to be more than 50 km or 1.5 hours of travel time (for a one way trip).
* Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. EUR192,- net as a monthly allowance.
* Paid holidays per internship term.
* The opportunity to buy Philips products at our Philips shop.
