About the team
The Data Intelligence Hub is a central hub of expertise driving data-driven decisions across the company. Our goal is to promote data driven culture in the company and help business users to effectively utilize data for decision making. This team works closely with our Product, Engineering, Business to develop a deep understanding of how our products are used and influence the company strategy.

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Data Analyst Intern to help the team building a well-structured data warehouse and using it to transform business needs into data visualizations to help the organization make decisions effectively. You will work in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with Data Engineers, Product Managers, Engineering Teams and Business Stakeholders, providing clean and ready-to-use data to the organization.

As a Data Analyst Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced data analysts and gain valuable experience in the healthcare industry by contributing to data-driven decision-making, and improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
Data work & analysis
* Write and run SQL queries to extract, explore, and validate data from our data warehouse.
* Work within established data models to understand how our data is structured and how tables relate to each other.
* Contribute to documentation of existing data models and pipelines.
* Perform descriptive analysis - identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies - with guidance from senior analysts.
* Cross-check your outputs before sharing: row counts, totals, null checks, and basic sanity tests.
Reporting & visualisation
* Build clear, well-labelled charts and dashboards using our BI tools;
* Help prepare reports and presentation slides that communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
* Learn to pair a finding with a "so what" - not just what the data shows, but why it matters.
Collaboration & communication
* Work closely with data engineers, project managers, and senior analysts to deliver your assigned tasks on time.
* Ask clarifying questions before diving into a request - understanding the business purpose behind a data request is part of the job.
* Give proactive updates on your tasks in Jira and Slack; flag blockers early rather than quietly.
* Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and get feedback on your SQL.
* Show up to team meetings prepared, contribute ideas, and follow through on what you commit to.
Data quality & best practices
* Adhere to data security, compliance, and governance standards.
* Follow established coding conventions and data modelling patterns.
* Learn to document your assumptions and flag known data limitations in your work.

About you
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in SQL (ability to write basic queries). Experience with dbt (or similar data transformation tools) is a plus.
* Experience with data visualization tools like Looker, Looker Studio, or equivalent BI tools is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Understanding the 'Why': Eager to ask clarifying questions about data requests to ensure accurate and relevant results.
* Coachability & Active Listening: Open to receiving and acting on feedback from senior analysts and team members.
* Accountability for Tasks: Demonstrated ability to deliver assigned tasks on time and to the required quality standards.
* Comfortable with multi-tasking and strong attention to detail.
* Quick learner and proven ability to adapt to situations quickly.
* Familiar with data warehousing fundamental concepts and ETL processes;
* Understanding basic database normalization concepts and entity relationships, and follows established data models.
