Be able to ask Accommodation Office of university to live in Campus Village. In general, they look for and suggest any kind of accommodation for you (family, house, room, campus, etc.), and if you don't accept his suggestion, you have to look for on your own.

If you are studying any kind of engineering, Danmarks Tekniske Universitet in Lyngby (10 kms from Copenhagen) is your university: Very good teaching method, media easily accesible, library, etc. This university cares about international students: It offers an introduction week before starting every semester, where you can meet other international students. A Danish student was assigned in order to help me in every problem I had and finally we become friends.

Travel as much as you can, Erasmus year is time to get to know other places, cultures and life styles (Denmark is very well located between Scandinavia and center Europe). Try to meet international friends, your English will improve surprisingly. Despite general opinions, you can find very very friendly people in Denmark, but you have to be prepared to meet the opposite: Very cold Danish people, who don't want to talk to you or become your friend. However, my main advice is you have to enjoy Erasmus experience staying abroad the whole year!!!

Food is more expensive right here especially restaurants this is why I'm more cooking at home to save some cash. Accomodation is more expensive since in my Home Country I have my own app. I don't pay any rentals as for traveling well there is no country that beats Poland in its cheap communication. Denmark has a very good network but also very expensive. I great solution is the bicycle it is just great to cycle here especially when you think of all the cash you are saving

Buy a bike from the Police Auction and go ecological. If you are a good cook like me then cook your own food. Supermarket food is cheap especially from shops such as ALDI and NETTO. If you are using the trains a lot ( not the S-trains) buy a wild card for discounts. As for parties everyday there is a place where you can go for free. Just check the places and you'll be always on the plus. Check SHuset in Copenhagen on Wednesdays and Park Cafe on thursdays etc...

Alojamiento
Tipo de alojamiento: En una familia
Organizado por: Universidad de intercambio
Si volviera, eligiría: En el campus
¿Por qué?
Living with a family feels imposing to both parties involved. I felt that you could do as you pleased in case it caused offence and part of studying abroad is to learning to be self-sufficient as well as meeting like minded people.

There was no provision for on campus accomodation for international students at DTU which is very unfair considering all exchange students arriving in the UK are allocated these sometimes before they are offered to UK Students. My accomodation was superb but many students were not as lucky as i was and i feel that if more of us had been living on campus then i would have gotten to know more people. There was however opposion from danish students to allow us to stay in their halls and i would suggest a purpose built accomodation block for international students.

First of all, on campus there were lots of funs moments, as it has Campus Village, Cellar Bar on tuesdays, Red House parties every month and Kampsax student residence parties on thursdays. In Copenhagen, The Moose bar is very good to have some beers and chat with friends, Kulor Bar on fridays was very cheap (perfect for students, as Copenhagen is expensive), Copenhagen Business School parties on thursdays were very cool, and finally LA Bar, a disco-pub, not large, but near The Moose. For sightseeing, I recommend to visit Vor Frelsers Kirke church, near Christiania, and to go up to its highest point, were you can have a good view of Copenhagen. Also, Carlsberg museum is quite good, were you can taste 2 beers for 5€ (in 2006). Don't forget to visit Tivoli in Christmas!!!

Recomendaciones de cursos
Many Danish students continued to speak in DANISH even after their teachers asked them to speak in English, as our classes were in English. They even protested having to work with international students in groups. I found that very offensive, and chose to stay with international students. However, there were also many nice Danish students.. you just have to be lucky in who you meet. Anyway, emphasis is placed on group work so make sure you choose wisely because there will be a lot of work!

Some of the projects were quite hard, but teachers were usually very helpful. I preferred classes that did not put 100% of the grade on an exam. But you can choose what type of grading you want in a class before you register, so you will know beforehand how you will be graded.

*try to get a bike (used) and rather pay a little bit more, it'll save repairing expenses *public transportation is expensive, figure out quickly what suits best for you *go see Stockholm, Gothenborg (Sweden) *I went to Tallinn, Estonia and it was just wonderful * Norway is nice but very expensive; ferry trips though can be quite cheap
