clothes/ shoes very expensive relatively to other countries. saving-tip: don't try posh shopping areas unless you are rich. very nice things to buy, you just can't help it so stay away. also stay away from touristic areas during summer, could be a bit of a rip-off.

I don't spend money on accomodation here, as my flat belongs to my family.
Nightlife is more important in Greece than it is here, and we simply went out more that I do here.
We travelled a lot, which I can't do here. But travelling in Greece is cheap, so don't be afraid!

You can find a lot of food (eg. fruit and veggies) cheaper (even chaeper!!!) at the market in Athinas, at the flea markets in Piraeus on sundays, and sometimes you can find unwanted furniture on the street, and just take it home :)

Cafe prices have skyrocketed since the introduction of the Euro -- which is perfectly fine if you plan to sip a Frappe for two hours (as most Greeks do). But if you just need a fast drink, head to the low-priced periptera -- or kiosks.
