Nice School
Somuadina I
Netherlands, Graduate
Business Studies, 2022
Overall
The school offers a lot of different learning tools. They try to implement hybrid learning which is a mix of online and offline. A lot of the lecturers are also professionals in the field they teach, this has a up and downside because this also means that some of them cannot teach. On the other hand we are taught based on experience and often not necessarily what is in the book.

Course recommendations
I studied on the 4th year of the International Business & Management (IBMS) at Arnhem and graduation at home university i will receive a degree from Arnhem aswell as my degree from UK. This however meant i had less choice as i followed the strict 4th year programme rather than have the choice of modules available on the International Business Course (Exxchange students studying for 6 months enrole on this course and credits are converted back by their home universities)

Personal comments
Have better explaination of the structure of the courses available to international students who may be less familiar with the system. The assessment and the structure of teaching was completely different to what i was used to, and although a positive experience in the end there was little support in the formative weeks from staff. There was an assumption that the system was obvious , thus question would remain unanswered and your needs were sometime overlooked. Availability of staff is sometimes poor. This tends to be a fault of certain individuals than a organisational issue as a whole.

Take your responsibility and go on a learning journey

The HAN University in Nijmegen is a very diverse and calm college. You get a lot of freedom from your teachers to take your own learning path. This of course comes with responsibility. The school itself is a great place to go and the teachers are willing to help.

Pros
Gives you a lot of freedom.
Cons
Some clusters only have a few lessons in a week, so it could be a very free program to fill out for yourself.

I study in Netherlands, the country where everybody speaks english. The language of teaching is english, what gives the opportunite to communicate on this language and improve it. But unfortunately, I don't have any possiblility to improve knowledge of Dutch. As everybody knows english, there is no any need to speak Dutch! That is the main problem. There are a lot of exchange students from different countries in this Hogeschool, so if you you know any other language, except english, you have a lot of possibilities to speak on it. All students are welcome to speak on their native language.

The accomodation was to a good standard. The university has an agreement with a independent housing agency (Vivare) they arrange your accomodation and all contracts are with them. So beyond the assurance you will have a place to stay the university has little influence over your accomodation. The agent is competant, but this was the Netherlands, lots of red tape so things did take long to organise if there was any problems (i.e. maintanence)
