Bars and clubs in Reims were pretty quiet. Personally I think this is because the town is very close to Paris. At the weekend most of the french people would go home so basically all the foreigners were left in Reims for the weekend. Most of the best parties were organised by the students themselve ie house parties, or the students union in college. Bars and clubs in reims are very quiet although the best club would be the Aquarium and the best bar would be the L'Apostrophe.

For all international students who wish to study at ESC Rouen I have one good advice: Don´t miss the first two weeks of the French Intensive Seminar, you will have partys ( sometimes 2 per night) every night at different locations, from house partys up to bigger parties in excellent bars like Highlands, O´Kallaghans or LA Hacienda. Don´t miss them. They are really superb and it is a big opportunity to get better connected with other students.

The usual student hangouts like Velvet, Bayou, O'Kallaghans, Murphys, Highlands and Big Ben get boring after about the second time you've been there. I would recommend Nash and Le Trio if you're looking for a change. Don't miss the open bar parties organised by the BDE and BDS, especially the soirée parrainage normally held at La Hacienda. Between 10-20 euros per person, but well worth it, although no beer; free drinks are spirits. There is a huge funfair in November, right next to the river in the city, which is excellent for an evening's entertainment. If you fancy the cinema, then check out the Melville, which shows international/art films, on Tuesday nights for their student discounts.

If you're Irish, or even British, stay away from O'Kallaghan's- it'll be the death of you. Velvet is a little sweatbox. La Bidule is even worse. La Luna can be good from time to time. Go to the parties organised by the school's student organisations- they're the best. But once again, if you're Irish or British, be aware of your threshold- open bars are a plently and beer is not on offer- I found myself in a rough state the next day many times. Don't expect many pubs to be great night spots- the French aren't really into them. The foreigners are on the other hand. If you want to mingle with the locals, you'll have to eat out, or be interested in football.

The Students Union in Reims Management School organise alot of social activites both in local night clubs and bars as well as outside the city. Our favourite place to drink socially was called l'Apostrophe. The night club that we most frequented was called l'Aquarium.

The Blackface is a great spot when there's a good crowd. L'Aquarium is a good club, a bit pricey though. Stay away from the Glue Pot if there's more than 3 of you...they'll complain about the noise! The Pommery Champagne Caves should not be missed.
