Personal comments
More interaction with the French people as they don't seem to settle with English or German or Spanish people. More help for interational students with banking, accomodation, carte de séjour. Goto Century 21 for good quality accomodation.

In compare to many other Erasmus students from other universities, we have nothing to complain. Facilities are nice. The only minor is maybe the administrational problems

If you want to travel around France (highly recommended), make sure to get a "carte 12 - 25" for the train - it's excellent and will save you loads of money!!

It is good for a year, any longer and you would want to go! Courses are excellent though.

Travel, bring car as petrol is cheap. Make sure you get your cards and accomodation sorted first 2 days. Banks - Société-Générale near Continent or Crédit Agricole near town. You cannot pay bills like phone over the counter in banks. Be ready for bills of exchange!! Mix well with others and friendship will last lifetime!

Since July 2002 the flow of money between european countries is fee so I could extract money from a french ATM without extra costs! The banks charge you 30 euro fine when you close your bank account!! When you want to open an bank account use the CIC bank, it is the cheapest for students. When ariving in caen arrange a bank account right away; you cannot get your key (address) from the room agency without an insurance and you can only pay the insurance with a cheque which we do not have in holland, and you can not get a cheque from the bank because yo do not have a bankaccount and can not get it without proof of residence!!! TIP: Open the bank account first or else ask Sophie Collet from Sup Europe to sign a cheque for you so that you can pay her the amount in cash.
