The university offered us a Bus pass which was very good value. And england is often in general more expensive than germany I feel.

There is alway scheap (even free!) furniture to be had in germany. CHeck the supermarket notice boards and notice boards in the university.

Better not to spend on any unnecessary things.If u have partime job It would be okay.but my sugesstion is to share with 3 or 4 guys so tht u can save ur expenses on rent.since tht is ther only thing u can save.

I spent more money abroad because I travelled a lot around the country, visited different towns, museums and did many different kinds of activities in my spare time. I got an unique change to see differents parts of Germany and when spending the money in travelling it is an lifetime investement.

It takes a bit time to get to know the best shops, for example to buy food from. When you find them you can save pretty much money and instead spend them on travelling.
