Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The University Campus in grenoble is situated outside of the city centre. As the city of Grenoble has much to offer, and it is during the day no problem to reach the campus by tram, I would choose again to live in the centre.

Several time I visited fellow students living in University accommodation. The rooms were small, but clean and ha all the mod-cons expected from this type of accommodation. It is certainly recommendable.

Why?
I relish in my independence, especially in new surroundings in which I want to explore freely. I initially lived with a host family upon arriving in Grenoble, but found it difficult to pursue both my goals of extensive travel and integration into the host family's environment.

The résidence where I lived (Résidence du Rabot) is located on a top location with an awesome view of the city.

I would advise anyone considering CROUS accommodation to go for the Hector Berlioz residence, which has much better rooms and facilities.

The student accomodation i lived in was private - so of a much higher standard than the university flats. It was fully equiped - didn't even have to buy cutlery. I met loads of french people because i was living in student accomodation and because i was the only foreign student living there. very sociable
