Certainly cafes are really nice in Maastricht, specially "Cafe Zuid", "Zondag", "Marks&Kampstra" and "Take Five". The best night spots are "Metamorfoos", "Clinique" and "Twee Heren"

Terrible experience
S
Slovakia, Graduate
, 2023
Overall
I had a terrible experience at Faculty of Law on IPKM programme, where I followed the MSc. track. The studies are completely disorganized, there is a lack of communication among teachers and between teachers and students. Everything changes every second. The teachers are not even teaching, just posting material and giving tasks which you have to work on based on your own understanding and research, which is, however, not taken into account during grading.
Additionally, the studies have nothing to do with science or technology and I would definitely cancel their accredition for the MSc track. If they think this is worth an MSc. degree there is something wrong in here.
There are so many issues with this programme, that one cannot believe it. Considering that I was fully covering my studies and this was what I was getting, I decided that this is unacceptable and left after 2 months, which was the most sensible decision. I wouldn’t recommend this programme to anyone, especially if you are considering coming after your studies in Eastern Europe - there are far better universities there and the world needs to know this. Maastricht University was just a big joke to me with its open-book exams and the level of English spoken, charging 16K for doing nothing.

Food, housing and nighlife are actually more expensive than in Portugal. In terms of travel, it was because I traveled a lot, since there is so much to visit just nearby you.
