Minor problems at the beginning of the academmic year because I didn't know Dutch yet. Dutch is really easy to learn when you already know German.

In general, prices are higher in Amsterdam than in Barcelona. I have also done more activities here than I do in Barcelona (traveling basicaly).

I am still learning Dutch but overall one can easily stay in Amsterdam without learning dutch because of the cosmopolitan nature of the city.
