It is difficult to pick out a single pup, night club or cafe as the best due to the fact that there are good numbers of them in Cork. However, I can only suggest based on the few I am familiar with. For instance, Havannas to mine opinion is a good club, whereas Brunos stands out for its night spot activities. Moreover, The Costigans to my knowledge is among the best pups around. The aforementioned observation is just a personal one.

I had very good time, I suggest to everybody to have an experience like the erasmus project. I suggest also to go in Ireland, the people are very gentle and it is possible to meet people of many other culture.

honestly, things don't start to get serious with classes until the last month and if you go to college in the US it will be a breeze.

Academics are not the reason to study abroad and if they are your reason, i suggest finding somewhere that takes it a bit more seriously. i had a great time when i did go to class though, they were hardly ever mandatory.

Take the baggage limitations of your airline seriously! We did not and had to pay at the airport.

Political Science is somehow an "exotic" subject at UCC (emphasis on the natural sciences). As mentioned above: don't stick to the European Studies department and inspect the programmes of the other departments as well. The International Student Office at UCC is quite flexible with regard to the wishes of Erasmus-students.

Place you HAVE to go to: Killarney, Dingle, Galway, Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Castle (Kiss the stone!), Cobh. UCC offers a relaxing atmosphere for your stay as an international student. Enjoy the time there! If you want to get into some media stuff, apply for an internship with Cork Campus Radio. You will be selected on the basis of an application form and an interview with the station manager. You'll learn a lot and it is great fun! (Say hello to Kieran, he is one of the fulltime staff there.) Search for the computer labs in the Food Science Building. They usually have the best machines and fastest internet access. If somebody of the staff is asking, just pretend to be a student at the department. Be careful with Cork's hairdressers!
