I wish I had known...
Only the living situation. If I had known that all the things that were said to be there, weren't there, I would have brought those instead of having to buy them there.

The CESP programme for foreign students is a bit to easy when studying at university level. This is according to the people involved to support the people that want to travel most of the time and to help them pass the courses. A bit surprising is that people who do make an effort can receive the same grades as people that are hardly ever in class and do the work at the last minute.

When coming to Prague the first time, it is helpful to bring a small phrasebook and a book about the city/country to help you find your way a bit better. The university also helps you with this aspect by giving a tour of Prague and you can also be assigned to a personal buddy that can help you settle in and arrange accomodation etc. This is especially helpful the first couple of days when everything is new. The buddy is Czech and hence is the perfect opportunity to meet and socialize with a Czech person.

before you go you should try to sign up for the buddy program..that really helps the first days, since somebody takes care of you..somebody who at least knows the language..

Overall it was very good semester. I met a lot of new friends and learned a lot about other cultures although it did not really bring me a lot further with my studies. But still a time worth spending. The whole of Eastern Europe is wonderful to travel in.

I would recommend this university for people seeking a fun semester where they can enhance their social skills. If you are looking for an academic experience go somewhere else.

Reside at the dormitory, much of the social life happens or at least origins there. The czech republic is beatiful and take the opportunity to see cesky krumlov and olomouc(is said to have the prettiest girls in the CR). By train its not far to budapest, Vienna and Krakow and just enjoy.

do not expect a high level for international students, there are "seperated courses" in English, some of them are interesting, some are not

The best trip of Buddynetwork ist the Moravian Wine trip! (not to be missed) for about 1000 kc you will spend a great weekend! Near jarov dormitory there are restaurants like don vitos pizzaria (right over the street), and tram station nr. 9 biskupcova there is cocafe, where all students enjoyed eating. If you travel somewhere try Studentagency which is really cheap! (Bus station Florenc in Prague) To stay in dormitory - try to get A or B if you dont want to share a bathroom with too many people (if you try to speak good czech - dormitory manager is more friendly to help you with anything you need/want) Be nice to Ladies/Men in the Reception of jarov dormitory (you might need them some day and your paties depend on them letting you celebrate longer - ps: invite other czech students living near you too, so they cannot complaint and terminate your party so)

On the CESP there were not much work to do. If you are interested mainly for academic skills go somewhere else. If you are interested generally to have a great experience in your life go to Prague.

There are a lot of opportunities (and cheap) to travel within Czech Rep. or abroad. The best and most fun way is to get together with other students that you will meet. Do not ever take a taxi from the street because they will rip you off. Prefer to call certain companies or prearrange the price.
