Job Summary
If you are a computer science, engineering, or related student looking for an internship opportunity to work with the global Emerson Systems and Software organization, this is a stimulating opportunity for you! As the AI Engineer Intern, you will support a mentored proof-of-concept focused on applying AI and data techniques to real business scenarios. You will collaborate closely with experienced AI engineers and cross-functional stakeholders while developing practical, hands-on technical skills.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
* Assisting in designing a small-scale AI proof of concept using internal datasets for learning and demonstration purposes.
* Supporting data collection, structuring, tagging, and validation activities to prepare datasets for testing and experimentation.
* Exploring pricing and configuration logic through guided prototyping using sample or masked data.
* Learning to apply basic AI and data mining techniques under mentorship from the AI team.
* Documenting project approaches, tools used, and lessons learned throughout the internship.
* Participating in discussions on AI security considerations, including data handling and model protection.
* Collaborating with team members to review progress, share findings, and refine the proof of concept.

For This Role, You Will Need:
* Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, data science, or an equivalent field.
* Ability to commit to a minimum of 480 hours; both required and voluntary interns are welcome.
* Basic understanding of programming, data structures, or analytics concepts.
* Familiarity or coursework exposure to tools such as Microsoft Azure, Azure SQL, Azure Machine Learning, Power Apps, or Power Automate.
* Willingness to learn, document work, and follow secure development and data handling practices.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
* Exposure to AI, machine learning, or data analytics through coursework or academic projects.
* Experience working with datasets, scripts, or low-code tools in a learning or project setting.
* Interest in understanding how technology solutions support business processes.
* Comfort working in a collaborative, mentored environment.
