Could have improved a lot more if I had mixed with the French students rather than the international students!

I wish I had known...
I informed myself about Aix through the person from my university who had studied there before me.

Basic neccessities in Paris are about the same, if not cheaper, than in the United States. However, nightlife activities and travel will take a large part out of your budget.

Academic
Course recommendations
Most enseignment d'ouvertures are not taken seriously by either the students or the professor, and therefore it's a little disappointing that two courses are wasted on them.

Personal comments
Exposés are mainly useless for expanding anyone's knowledge beyond those doing the exposés themselves. French students are, in the majority, very clique-ish and unhelpful. Access to resources is ridiculous limited (you can only check out three books, 7 days max...the library isn't open for very long, etc.). Sciences Po as a bureaucratic structure is useless, and might as well be under anarchic dogma with the way it's run. Overall a highly, highly disappointing academic experience. You can learn if you put intense effort into doing independent study...but why should I pay money to learn everything myself?

If you're willing to study hard and learn there's not a better school for social sciences than Sciences Po, it's truly first-class.
