Personal comments
At the beginning it was difficult to make oneself understood due to my limited vocabulary. In spite of this people were open enough and were very patient trying to understand that that I was saying. Currently these initial problems have disappeared and both my partners and I can enjoy a nice conversation in German.

Clubbing is a huge part of nightlife at Brauschweig. There are places to go almost everynight of the week, and clubs play a variety of music - you're bound to find a scene that suits you. The popular ones are Jolly Joker, Merz, Brain. Besides that, there are many pubs all around, some of which are student-runned.

The dorm was quite good, one small room with internet access but shared kitchen, living room and bathroom. Sometimes there were problems with too loud or messy housemates, or too many loud parties.....

Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
If you are an engineer it is a good university, but the business courses are limited. Language courses are great to both improve your german and other foreign language if you speak one. I took beginners Italian and I learned Italian as well as improving my German.

During my experience abroad, I ...
(1) Never – (4) A lot
Became familiar with another culture
Met people from other countries
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies & career
Final comments
Travel, because if will never be more available for you to do so. When you're young, it's always more fun, and you see the culture more since you don't have as much money to stay in the 3 or 4 star hotels. Try hard to speak the language you're trying to learn as much as you can, because it's so easy to fall into hanging out with people who speak english.

Academic
Course recommendations
Try to have between your friends someone who study the same as you. Sometimes the courses are very technical and you understand scarcely anything. If a friend of you goes in the same course both of you can help each other.
